Farmer and his four children abducted by suspected herdsmen in Oyo

A farmer identified as Rasaq Jamiu, and his four children have been abducted by suspected herdsmen in Maami village in the Ibaraoa North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

 

According to reports, Jamiu had gone to his farm in Maami village on Monday, April 19 when the kidnappers stormed the farm and whisked him and his children away. His children were later released by the gunmen but he, Jamiu, has been held hostage and his abductors are demanding N5 million ransom for his release.

 

Confirming the incident, the Secretary of Farmers Union in Ibarapaland, Taiwo Adeagbo, aka Akowe Agbe, said Jamiu was abducted at about 12 noon on Monday.

 

The state police command is yet to comment on this development.
