Former United States Vice President Walter Mondale has died.
He died at the age of 93.
According to a statement from his family, Mondale died Monday, although no reason was given for his death.
In response, current Vice President Kamala Harris said in a statement that her predecessor led an extraordinary service life. ‘
Harris also described Mondale as someone who ‘has been’ so generous with his mind and wisdom ‘over the years.
She prayed that God would give him rest and comfort his family.
Also, a former U.S. president, Jimmy Carter, who served Mondale as vice president, described Mondale as a great friend and had the best U.S. president ever.
“Today I regret the passing of my dear friend Walter Mondale, whom I consider the best Vice President in the history of our country.
“He was an invaluable partner and a capable servant of the people of Minnesota, the United States, and the world.
“May God give him rest and comfort the family he left behind,” he said.
Prior to his death, Mondale served as Vice President from 1977 to 1981 under Jimmy Carter.
He also served as ambassador to Japan between 1993 and 1996.
